Overview

The program management team is responsible for managing the overall success of technology development programs and supporting the transition of technologies to the U.S. intelligence community developed by early-stage companies and start-ups that In-Q-Tel (IQT) has identified, evaluated, and invested in on behalf of our government partners. 

 

On a daily basis, our program managers are responsible for establishing strategic program objectives, executing against the statements of work, assessing and tracking administrative, logistical, and technical risks to solution transfer, identifying and implementing strategies to mitigate barriers to operational or pseudo-operational deployment of program deliverables, and serving as a mentor and advisor to IQT portfolio and government partners.

 

We are looking for an intern to support day-to-day responsibilities of the program management team and work on a cross-functional team project comprised of diverse internal stakeholders focused on addressing tactical and strategic challenges related to program execution and technology transfer.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day responsibilities of the program management team, which includes participation in coordinating and executing administrative and technical meetings between IQT portfolio and government partners related to on-going technology development program.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders across IQT functional areas to understand IQT’s strategic investment model and the lifecycle of IQT investments, technology development programs, and technology transfer.
  • Participate in a cross functional team project to help strengthen IQT’s ability to address complex issues affecting program execution by enhancing IQT’s ability to learn from past experiences and improve with future programs.

Qualifications

  • Due to contractual reasons, U.S. Citizenship is required 
  • Demonstrated success acting as the main reason for data driven change
  • Experienced problem solver
  • Basic understanding of project management and technology transfer challenges
  • Systems thinking mindset
  • Self-starter, constant learner, and passion for solving hard problems
  • Candidate for a bachelor’s degree (rising Junior or Senior) or equivalent experience. Preferably a candidate for a graduate degree, in a STEM discipline.
  • Must be comfortable presenting complex technology subjects to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Must be a strong writer. Experience in both technical writing and proposal writing is preferred.
