The internship would be an opportunity for the participant to learn about the important and unique role that IQT plays in the realm of supporting national security. And in specific, to learn about the elements in health security comprising our national security infrastructure. The intern would be expected to help in all aspects of the BNext practice. Special emphasis will be placed on the articulation and development of a roadmap for digital health care delivery adoption that can serve and augment day to day clinical service delivery, as well as be available as a backstop for ensuring access to and continuity of care during catastrophic health emergencies.
A possible area of concentrated attention will be to help design and detail the “field hospital of the future”, taking into account what capabilities would be required to ensure adequate remote patient monitoring, data collection, integration and analysis, and connectivity to the existing healthcare infrastructure. The intern will be expected to learn about alternate care systems and become acquainted with the body of literature focused on crisis standards of care for catastrophic health emergencies. The COVID experience will serve as the backdrop for discussion and planning (e.g., how to surge critical care when beds and staff are in short supply).
